Vermont Cheese Camp: Cheese as a Way of Life (Stories of Passion, Love, & Grit)

| $120Join the Vermont Cheese Council for a deep dive into cheese, its role in history, and the experience of working with it every day! You will learn about the life of a cheesemaker and dairy farmer, journey with cheese as it has fed the human soul through time, learn how to build a cheese board, have a guided cheese sampling with a cheesemonger, hear what calls people to work with cheese, and enjoy a tour through the beautiful Hildene estate and its creamery!
Cheese Camp Schedule

Join Peg Gallup, Hildene cheesemaker, for a tour of the on-site dairy, including meeting the Nubian goat herd that makes Hildene’s cheese possible.
12:45pm-1:30pm
1:45pm-2:30pm
Learn about the daily lives of cheesemakers, featuring Zoe Brickley of Jasper Hill Farm and Suzy Kaplan, of Fat Sheep Farm.
2:45pm-3:30pm
On the Hildene terrace with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and sweeping valley, enjoy a discussion and tutorial from cheesemonger Mary Tuthill on creating a gourmet cheese board. Talk about different styles, flavors, textures and techniques. Learn how to blend them all together to create a show stopping and delicious cheese board! Featuring a tasting of local Vermont Cheeses and accoutrements.
